The final submitted. This is my first stab at the mental ray subsurface scattering fast skin shader- not entirely successful but definitely the start of a journey of perfecting the skill. There are a million little things I could make better but I hope this can be appreciated in the state that it's come to. Maybe I could re-render this in the future when I have a better grasp on the shader. But despite any of that, I hope you've enjoyed this, whoever you are.

Wow--putting in that new light and setting sure makes it creepy. Nice effect!

hi, great work, I have also trouble with the mental ray SSS if you know how to figure it out let me know. Do you study at Gnomon?

Hey nice study! I would suggest pushing the solidity of your shapes both with in the surface as well as the structural contour. Here is an example from another artist whom tackled the same project. http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?t=041300 I would just use this as example for very controlled surface details.
